Detailed Route Itinerary
🚩 Departure from Tropical Riders
We set off from the Tropical Riders base in Marina del Este, La Herradura, right beside the N-340, a coastal road with sea views that already begins to awaken the senses.
🛣️ N-340 and N-323a to Tablate
We ride gently along the Mediterranean until we join the N-323a heading inland, passing through landscapes that shift from coast to mountain. At Tablate, the meeting point between the Vega and the Alpujarra, the fun really begins.
🏔️ A-348 to Lanjarón
We take the winding, scenic A-348 towards Lanjarón, known for its medicinal waters and its role as the gateway to the Alpujarra. Here we make a short stop at Venta El Buñuelo, a classic spot for a coffee with a view.
🏘️ The Alpujarra at its purest: Órgiva, Soportújar, Pampaneira…
We continue along the Alpujarra road, passing through some of the most picturesque villages in Andalusia:
- Órgiva, the unofficial capital of the Alpujarra.
- Carataunas, small and peaceful.
- Soportújar, famous for its witches and legends.
- Pampaneira and Bubión, two gems of the Barranco de Poqueira.
- Until we reach Capileira, one of the highest villages in Spain, with views of Mulhacén and a mountain air that makes you want to stay.
🔁 Panoramic return
Depending on time and how you feel, the return can be made via:
- Vélez de Benaudalla and the old N-323a, for a quieter and truly beautiful route.
- The A-7, if you prefer a more direct and faster-flowing road back to La Herradura.
