The BMW F 800GS is a perfectly balanced adventure bike, built for riders who seek freedom on every road. Powered by a responsive 895 cc parallel-twin engine, with long-travel suspension and a robust chassis, it delivers confident performance on every kind of tarmac, from smooth coastal roads to rough, patched mountain passes.

On the Costa Tropical it is the bike that does it all: in under an hour you go from sea level to the white villages of the Alpujarra, climb towards Sierra Nevada or string together the bends of the Carretera de la Cabra and the Lecrín Valley. Its height, wind protection and Dynamic ESA suspension make long days easy, and the cruise control is welcome on the motorway to Granada.

Rental requirements
To hire a motorbike with Tropical Riders, you’ll need:
- A valid driving licence for the motorbike category.
- A passport or valid ID.
- Minimum age 25, with a category A licence held for at least 3 years.
- Rental includes 300 km per day. Additional kilometres are charged at €0.40/km.
- A refundable security deposit of €1000, held on your credit card during the rental period.
- The price includes full coverage insurance with a €1000 excess and roadside assistance. 24-hour assistance is provided throughout your rental.
Delivery & collection hours
- June to October: Monday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- November to May: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- Each rental day is 24 hours: for example, if you collect the bike at 12 noon, you must return it by 12 noon the following day at the latest.
- Weekends from November to May: collect the bike on Friday afternoon and return it on Monday at 10:00 am. You are charged for 2 days.

We bring the bike to the door of your home or accommodation. The price is per trip: delivery and collection are two trips (for example, in Nerja: 2 × €20 = €40). If you prefer, you can collect the bike free of charge at our base in Marina del Este.

What licence and age do I need to rent the BMW F800 GS?
A category A motorcycle licence held for at least 3 years, and you must be at least 25. Bring your original, valid licence and your ID card or passport.
How much does it cost to rent the BMW F800 GS?
€150/day for 1 to 3 days, €140/day for 4 to 7 days, €125/day for 8 to 14 days and €100/day from 15 days. You can rent it from 1 day.
Is full coverage insurance included?
Yes. On the F800 GS full coverage insurance is included in the price, with a €1,000 excess. Third-party liability, rider accident cover and 24 h roadside assistance are also included.
How much is the deposit?
€1,000, held on your card before handover and released within 25 days after the bike is returned and inspected.
How many kilometres are included?
300 km per day. Extra kilometres are charged at €0.40/km.
What gear is included?

Can you deliver it to my accommodation?
Yes. Delivery costs €10 per trip in La Herradura, Marina del Este, Cerro Gordo and Almuñécar, €20 in Nerja, €30 in Salobreña, Motril, Torrox and Frigiliana, and €50 beyond 30 km. Granada city on request.
Which routes do you recommend with the F800 GS?
The Alpujarra, Sierra Nevada, the Carretera de la Cabra and the Lecrín Valley, or La Axarquía. We give you advice when you collect it and, if you prefer company, we run guided tours in small groups.
Can I ride the F800 GS on unpaved tracks or dirt roads?
No. Our rental bikes are for tarmac only: the insurance does not cover unpaved tracks or dirt roads. The mountain roads of the Alpujarra and Sierra Nevada give you more than enough to enjoy.
