Licence needed to ride the scooter
- Spanish or EU/EEA licence: a car licence (B) held for more than 3 years is valid, as well as a motorcycle licence A1, A2 or A.
- UK, US, Canadian, Australian and other non-EU licences: a car licence is not valid. Your licence must include the motorcycle category A1, A2 or A.
- Non-EU licences (except UK and licences written in Spanish): also bring an International Driving Permit or an official translation.
Booking, cancellation and delivery
- Pay 50% of the total when booking; the rest when you collect the bike.
- Free cancellation 15 days or more in advance; between 14 and 7 days, 50% of the total is retained.
- Bad weather: free date change or free cancellation.
- We deliver to your accommodation from €10 per trip.

Rental requirements
To hire a motorbike with Tropical Riders, you’ll need:
- A valid driving licence for the motorbike category.
- A passport or valid ID.
- Minimum age 24, with at least 3 years of riding experience.
- Unlimited kilometres.
- A refundable security deposit of €500, held on your credit card during the rental period.
- All bikes include basic third-party insurance with national coverage. For added peace of mind, comprehensive cover is available. 24-hour assistance is provided throughout your rental.
Delivery & collection hours
- June to October: Monday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- November to May: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- Each rental day is 24 hours: for example, if you collect the bike at 12 noon, you must return it by 12 noon the following day at the latest.
- Weekends from November to May: collect the bike on Friday afternoon and return it on Monday at 10:00 am. You are charged for 2 days.

Motorbike delivery to your door
We bring the bike to the door of your home or accommodation. The price is per trip: delivery and collection are two trips (for example, in Nerja: 2 × €20 = €40). If you prefer, you can collect the bike free of charge at our base in Marina del Este.

What licence do I need to rent the electric scooter in Nerja?
You can rent our NIU electric scooter (125 cc equivalent) with an A1, A2 or A motorcycle licence, or with a B car licence held for more than 3 years.
What is the minimum age to rent?
You must be at least 24 years old, have held your licence for 3 years and show a valid ID card or passport together with your driving licence.
How much does it cost to rent the electric scooter in Nerja and La Herradura?
Rental starts at €20/day: €35/day for 1 to 2 days, €28/day for 3 to 7 days, €25/day for 8 to 14 days and €20/day from 15 days. Full coverage insurance is optional from €10/day.
Is there a deposit?
Yes, a refundable €500 deposit is required, returned in full when the scooter is handed back in the same condition, without damage.
What does the scooter rental include?
It includes the NIU electric scooter, a helmet for the rider, the charger and unlimited kilometres. The passenger helmet is available as an extra. Full coverage insurance can be added from €10/day.
