Description
The 1996 Heritage Softail Special (FLSTN) is one of the last Harley-Davidsons of the Evolution era: the 1340 cc V-twin with aluminium cylinders and heads that, from 1984 onwards, restored the Milwaukee brand's reliability and reputation. Softails moved to the Twin Cam after 1999, so this bike belongs to the final chapter of an engine that connoisseurs still seek out for its simplicity, its sound and its character.
The Heritage family was born in 1986 as a tribute to 1950s Harleys, with a Hydra-Glide-style fork, deep valanced fenders and the Softail chassis, which hides the rear shocks to give the clean look of a rigid frame. The FLSTN, successor to the famous 1993 "Cow Glide", was built as the Heritage Softail Special from 1994 to 1996, making 1996 its final year.
This particular bike has been customised by Ferry Clot, founder of Hot Dreams and winner of the Modified Harley-Davidson class at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in Sturgis (USA) in 2007 and 2009. Its owner calls him "the guru of Harley-Davidson transformations". A one-off to ride at an easy pace along the N-340, the Carretera de la Cabra or the Alpujarra, starting from Puerto Marina del Este in La Herradura.

Rental requirements
To hire a motorbike with Tropical Riders, you’ll need:
- A valid driving licence for the motorbike category.
- A passport or valid ID.
- Minimum age of 30 years and 5 years holding a category A licence. Proven experience on large custom motorcycles is also required.
- Rental includes 250 km per day. Additional kilometres are charged at €0.50/km.
- A refundable security deposit of €2000, held on your credit card during the rental period.
- Full coverage insurance available on request: we take your details, request a quote from an external insurer and give you the price and conditions. Without it, the rider is liable for damage and, besides the deposit, their credit card stays as a guarantee if the damage exceeds it.
Delivery & collection hours
- June to October: Monday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- November to May: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
- Each rental day is 24 hours: for example, if you collect the bike at 12:00 noon, you must return it by 12:00 noon the following day at the latest.
- Weekends from November to May: collect the bike on Friday afternoon and return it on Monday at 10:00 am. You are charged for 2 days.

What are the requirements to rent it?
A category A licence held for at least 5 years, proven experience on this type of motorcycle (large custom or cruiser), and you must be at least 30.
Can you deliver it to my accommodation?
No. The Heritage is not delivered: you collect and return it at our base in Puerto Marina del Este (La Herradura) or in Granada. Tell us where you prefer to collect it when you book.
What is the deposit, and is full-coverage insurance available?
The deposit is always €2,000. Full-coverage insurance is available on request: we get a quote at the time from external insurers and give you the price and conditions (we need your details to request it). Without it, the rider is liable for damage and, in addition to the deposit, their credit card is held as a guarantee in case damage exceeds that amount. With the insurance, the deposit is still €2,000, but the card is not held.
How many kilometres are included?
The €200 daily rate includes 250 km per day. Extra kilometres are charged at €0.50 each. The minimum rental is 1 day.
